GREYHOUND ADOPTION AGREEMENT

For and in consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, Greyt Friends Inc. hereby places for adoption the above-referenced greyhound with the undersigned New Pet Owner.

The New Pet Owner hereby certifies that he/she has this date taken possession of the above-mentioned greyhound dog, with the express agreement that this greyhound will be kept solely and exclusively as an INDOOR HOUSE PET, and will not, under any circumstances, be used for breeding, hunting, racing, coursing or laboratory research or experimentation.  The NEW PET OWNER acknowledges that the greyhound dog can be an active animal which must be kept on a leash or in a fenced area at all times but not subjected to being chained or tied out.  THE NEW PET OWNER agrees to do so at all times.

THE NEW PET OWNER agrees to have his/her identification on greyhound immediately after adoption so that it can be traced back to its owner should it be lost or stolen.  Greyt Friends Inc provides a temporary tag at the time of adoption so your greyhound will be able to be tracked thru Greyt Friends Adoption Program.

THE NEW PET OWNER agrees to accept all financial responsibly of said greyhound from this day forth and promises to maintain the best of health for this pet by providing greyhound with proper yearly vaccinations, dental care, and good nutrition for the remainder of it’s life.

THE NEW PET OWNER will be responsible for providing medical and care records of said greyhound in the event it will have to be returned to the adoption program and to be retrieved from animal control facility or found as a stray or injured in any way. THE NEW PET OWNER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTS to insure the greyhound will be found another home thru Greyt Friends Inc.

THE GREYHOUND OWNER agrees to return greyhound to its original adoption source, which in this case is Greyt Friends Inc. at his/her expense.

THE NEW PET OWNER acknowledges and agrees that if, in the sole opinion of Greyt Friends Inc., he/she has failed to properly care for the greyhound as previously outlined in the adoption agreement that Greyt Friends will repossess said greyhound and Pet Owner will be responsible for all costs including veterinary and attorney’s fees to repossess said greyhound.

THE NEW PET OWNER hereby donates the sum of $                 to Greyt Friends Inc. as a contribution to the organization.  In no event shall this donation be refunded to THE NEW PET OWNER.

THE NEW PET OWNER hereby releases Greyt Friends Inc. and all volunteer and it’s agents from liability concerning said greyhound, including any future claims for any physical injuries or property damage related to said greyhound.
